Youtube

Youtube can the bane of one's existence, because once started, it is very hard to resist the urge to click "suggestions" which gives a plethora of links to other videos, often by the same uploader or watched by other subscribers.

Youtube and the library should be at odds with one another, with many a youth clogging up the free bandwidth at the library with their successive youtubing. However, youtube conversely can be used as a mechanism to spread otherwise never watched local history film clips to the wider community. Eventually, an individual will stumble upon a local history film clip uploaded on youtube courtesy of the "suggestions" side bar, and increasing the view count would inevitably lead to a wider interested further educated audience.

Local history department which would benefit the most from this youtubing in a 
wider exposure to their work by the general public.
